This policy explains what AddClips handles when you edit videos, use cloud features, create an account, or visit this website.

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how AddClips (“AddClips,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the AddClips mobile application, this website, and related services (together, the “Services”).

You choose when media leaves your device.

Core editing and local speech transcription can run on your device. Features that create or restore server-backed works may upload selected media and related editing data to provide those features.

02

Information we handle

Account and authentication information

When you create or use an account, we store your name, email address, password hash, account dates, and identifiers for Google or Apple sign-in when you choose those methods. We never store your plain-text password. Session records may include token hashes, dates, IP address, device or client information, and user-agent information.

Videos, audio, and editing data

AddClips accesses media you select so you can edit, preview, transcribe, and export it. Local transcription downloads a speech model to the app cache, creates a temporary audio file, and processes speech on your device. When you use an authenticated server-backed workflow or restore a saved work, selected media may be uploaded and stored with its filename, type, size, processing status, generated output files, transcripts, selected transcript segments, prompts, subtitle text, timing, styles, and editor-layer settings.

Device storage

The app may store settings, downloaded speech models, temporary processing files, local projects, authentication tokens, and exported media on your device. Your operating system and any device backup service control copies outside AddClips.

Support and website information

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and anything else you choose to provide. Hosting and security systems may process IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, and basic browser or device details in server logs. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies at the date shown above.

03

How we use information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide editing, transcription, media processing, saved-work, and export features;
  • create accounts, authenticate sign-ins, and recover passwords;
  • operate processing queues and deliver requested output;
  • respond to support and privacy requests;
  • secure the Services, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot reliability;
  • comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
04

When information is shared

We do not sell your personal information or your videos. Limited information may be processed by:

  • Infrastructure providers that host databases, application services, files, email, and processing workers for us.
  • Google and Apple when you choose their sign-in services.
  • Model hosting providers when your device downloads an optional speech model; the provider receives ordinary network request data.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law, needed to protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business reorganization subject to applicable protections.

Third-party services operate under their own policies. You can review the privacy policies of Google, Apple, and Hugging Face.

05

Retention and security

We keep account information and server-backed works while your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Refresh sessions and password-reset records expire or are revoked according to their configured lifetimes. Processing records and files may remain available with a saved work until you delete the account or they are removed under our operational retention practices.

Deleting your account removes its user record, sessions, password-reset records, tasks, and saved-work records from the active database. Uploaded or generated files may remain for a limited period until routine storage cleanup or backup expiry. Limited records may also be retained where required by law or reasonably needed for security. We use encrypted transport, access controls, hashed credentials and tokens, and other reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

06

Your choices and rights

  • You control which media you select and can manage photo-library access in device settings.
  • You can remove downloaded speech models and local projects from the app or remove app data through your device.
  • You can sign out and revoke active sessions using the app’s account controls.
  • You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated service data.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Use our account deletion instructions or contact us to make a request. We may verify your identity before acting.

07

International processing

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and handle information according to this policy and applicable law.

08

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

09

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the new version here and revise the effective date. We will provide additional notice where required for material changes.
